Morris Minor Owners Club
Every year, we go on Minors on Tour. This year, we extended it a bit. We left Friday
am and met Gerri and Tony on the ferry, who were driving straight there. We stayed
over in Laon and ambled down to Bertrix in Belgium. This is a hilly area in Ardennes,
Belgium. We arrived on Saturday pm and met up with lots of other car owners.
In the evening, we met up with Ryan Watson and John from West Sussex for welcome drinks and an after party with flowing Prosecco.
The week continued with the drive on Monday where we drove to the pretty riverside town of Bouillon. There were over 100 cars including Minors from Denmark, Holland, Germany and France.
The whole campsite was full of Minors. We met up on the Monday night with Tony Hogdekiss who had come in his green early saloon.
Our daughters came and joined us on Tuesday via the Eurostar changing at Brussels. Tuesday night was the celebration meal.
More trips, a beer tasting and an auction were part of the fun filled week. Some of us drove into Luxembourg city which was one hour ago. There was a leaving celebration on the Friday night, with the raffle where over £2000 was raised for charity. Gerri and Tony won the Ian Portsmouth best car prize for their lovely convertible. We had a West Sussex branch get together at our chalet on Thursday night. All cars behaved extremely well. We diverted home via two nights in Brussels and in the end clocked up 930 miles. The trip is highly recommended
